Friday is either Freya’s or Frigga’s day - Old Norse frijadagr or Old English (which is related to German from the Angles and Saxons) frigedæg - there is some uncertainty as the Romans honored Venus on that day and Freya is closer in character to her than Frigga was portrayed.
