A typical home pool has about 20,000 gallons of water. A classic six inch squirt gun holds about a cup of water. So, the guns would have to be filled about 320, 000 times to empty the pool. Assuming the twelve kids we see are all there are, and assuming they stick with the project till the pool is entirely empty, each would have to fill each individual squirt gun approximately 26,666.67 times. Now, how fast they can refill and empty the squirters and whether they stop for meals or sleep or bathroom breaks is something else. Maybe someone else can take it from here? I’d suggest, though, that a Farmers insurance policy might be an early order of business here.
Using Jimmijonzz’s figures, if it takes 2 minutes to fill and empty a squirt gun, it would take 888.889 hours, or 37 days to empty the pool. In reality, due to boredom or tired fingers, I doubt that these kids would keep it up for an hour. Actually, the cop would probably just give Nancy a quarter and run the kids off.

Anyone care to run the calculations on how long it will take to drain the pool?

So many faithful swains! How long, do you think, before they start aiming the water pistols at each other?
