Notice the smile on Sluggo’s face. Good thing for him that school was cancelled due to snow… he gets away with no Valentine’s Day gift. Nancy is too distracted.
In the early days, broadcast stations were issued K and W calls. Later, it was decided to use W east of the Mississippi and K to the west, but those already grandfathered could keep their calls. WHO Des moines is another example.Similarly, US amateurs were issued K and W calls followed by a number, but the numbers increased to the point that the A and N prefixes also had to be added.Incidentally, both WOWO Ft. Wayne and WHO Des Moines both claim to be “The voice of the Middle West.”Quincy, Ill on the Mississippi River have both KHQA and WGEM TV stations.

Just for the record, the call letters KYW were used in Cleveland (AM 1100 and TV Channel 3) in the 1950s and ’60s.

KYW-1060; Worst radio station in the world. The only thing they do well is give the time.

It’ll be less fun when Fritzi makes the children shovel the snow or do other chores and homework later, though.

Then in June they’ll be crying; "Oh boo-hoo. If only it hadn’t snowed so bad in February. We’d have gotten out of school by now! " :-(

If public school is so wonderful… 1) Why force anyone to go and 2) Why do 90% or maybe 80% of kids feel this way? Why does Nancy feel this way?
