Well, gee….for a moment there, she had a great idea. (Not totally original, mind you. It’s been done.)

Comic books are but the “hook” for kids to get into history. once you start digging, there is so much more subtlety and nuance to be discovered.

Yes, I remember them. I also remember the “We Were There” books, by which various historical events were portrayed through the eyes of a boy and girl pair who lived at that time. I loved those books as the first “real” books that I encountered..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Were_There

I remember both of them. I collected them.To a kid, they were more interesting becauseit was a comic book. I did learn a lot fromreading them.

Yes, I remember them fondly. I got a lot of information about classic literature from these so called “comic” books. Enough so that I read most of them as an adult. One of my best memories from my childhood!

Finally talked Mom into letting me buy Classics Illustrated. Did I use them for crib sheets? Guilty. Did I read the actual books? Yes, eventually.
