I finally figured out what bothers me about this comic, beyond the lack of humor. It was on GoComics top 5 today, so I thought I’d check it out, even though I removed it from my favorites.
The drawings are so minimalistic that it’s nearly impossible to see any emotion in the character’s expressions. Are they smiling, frowning, smirking? I can’t tell. That can add a lot to the humor, but it’s sorely lacking. At least with Guy, you could always tell what they were thinking just by the expression on their face.
