I finally figured out what bothers me about this comic, beyond the lack of humor. It was on GoComics top 5 today, so I thought I’d check it out, even though I removed it from my favorites.
The drawings are so minimalistic that it’s nearly impossible to see any emotion in the character’s expressions. Are they smiling, frowning, smirking? I can’t tell. That can add a lot to the humor, but it’s sorely lacking. At least with Guy, you could always tell what they were thinking just by the expression on their face.
The entire comic has become a ho hum strip. Aunt Fritz looks like something drawn by an artist that had neve studied anatomy. I have better drawing than these from my seven year old granddaughter. Plus as mentioned by nggt413 no humor or everything based on smartphones. Duh! wish someone would use their brain. I miss the old Nancy.
