Nice try NoFearPup. But here’s the truth from yesterday’s Washington Post: “It was the fourth time the Supreme Court has overturned Sotomayor; it has upheld her decisions three times. Experts say the court customarily reverses three-quarters of the cases it reviews. ”
That makes 50% “in the past” (as you say), and 57% presently.
I should also point out that when a Supreme Court decision overturns your ruling by a 5-4 majority, we’re obviously talking about a difficult ruling. Had her ruling been slapped down by a unanimous Court, then you might have a case.
as the earlier writter noted, the supremes reverses 75% of the circuit court decisions, and about 90% of those from the 9th circuit on the west coast. however this term they reversed 100% of the decisions of the circuit court represemting a southern and midwest region, i think the 11th but i may be wrong about the number of the court.

As a matter of fact the 4 dissenters said they would have handled the case differently from Sotomayor. If you read the decision all 9 did reverse her. She just summarily dismissed. The 4 dissenters said she should have sent the case back to the lower court for reevaluation.

This is typical of Sotomayor’s decisions: I think 60% of her rulings have been over-turned in the past. Excellent Supreme Court material!
