mom: HONOR! Put down that spear! It's only for boys! Homer: Why? mom: Because boys are the hunters and girls are the gatherers. Homer: Why? mom: Well, the conventional explanation is that hunting is dangerous and boys are better equipped physically for it, while girls are better equipped mentally to stay home and gather other necessities. Homer: They actually bought that? mom: Yes...that's what makes them expendable, dear.
More truth here than most males want to admit. As an analogy I’ll use feral hogs. It only takes one male to keep the herd going, but said herd usually consists of a bunch of sows and their offspring. Same thjing with chickens, cows, etc. Sometimes I think we are lucky fewer females realize that!
