True stipiper, and if memory serves, this insane dude’s advertising moves set the tone for today’s advertising.
and Kaiser-Frazier, thats a name one don’t hear anymore.
Wiley, First of all, thank you for being entertaining and intelligent and for assuming your readers are as well. I have enjoyed all your story lines and look forward to the future.
Secondly, I so totally agree with your non-usage of LOL and other texting shorteners, There is a reason most kids today cannot spell.
in any event, since it is engraved on the headstone, it is not “out loud” and therefore couldn’t possibly be the last LOL.
@okeedoekee: The deceased often requests what gets engraved on the headstone. My Mom’s stone has on it exactly what she wanted put there. i hope that when my time comes I can find something with a bit of humour to it to remind the world of me.
@Wiley: I’m with you on this texting shorthand thing. Though I do use it, occasionally, on these comments, I find it generally adds a lack of clarity; especially to non-initiates. Almost like writing in code.
Hey
Maybe the buried person’s last name is HaHa and that person is the last of the family.
That person’s name could have been Straw.
Possibly it was that persons request to enscribe Ha Ha because he or she left all of the money to someone other than this relative. Say, this husband . Teehee
It took me a while, but the letters instead of words is slowly finding its way into my typing. It is the only way to get people to know when I’m joking around.
Okeedokee ….in some casaes the departed sets the marker before the end to be sure it is done by their wish. OR to be sure that it is done…period.
I do plan to get the last laugh on my greedy relatives tho..one life insurance policy.. made out with the undertaker as beneficiary

wicky, My Dad used to say he worked for “Mad Man Muntz” for a short period of time. If I recall correctly, it was when he was selling Kaiser-Fraziers.

“It should read, the last LOL.”
I steadfastly refuse to use those types of idiotic initialing. I’ll only go as far a smiley face emoticon… grudgingly.

Besides, “The last laugh” is an idiom in the language. “The last LOL” is not.

Haha. Now who’s having the last laugh. Ha

I don’t get it. Isn’t the survivors of the dearly departed who enscribe something on the headstone? I just don’t get it.

What you want on your tombstone could be in your will. Hopefully, your executor will abide by it.

best tombstone I ever saw (online): a parking meter with “expired” shown. I want to have a tombstone that doesn’t exude depression.
