Non Sequitur by Wiley Miller for November 14, 2009
Transcript:
Danae: You're welcome, Lucy! Lucy: Uh... for what? Danae: It's my new attitude of gratitude. Lucy: Uh... wait... that's not how it works. Danae: What do you mean? Lucy: Um... pretty much the opposite of what you think. Danae: Oh... so that'd mean I'm supposed to be grateful... well, that doesn't fit into my master plan at all... Lucy: And for that we are all grateful.
Perhaps this needs to be clarified for some people here.
This is the Non Sequitur page on Uclick. Uclick owns the site, but as the author, under contract, this is my page. As such, I do not want the page to be hijacked as a soapbox for anyone’s political agenda, regardless of political leanings.
This is not a freedom of speech issue, it’s an issue of simple manners. People come here to read and enjoy comics for entertainment, not to be subjected to the tedious back-and-forth of political dogma. Your political opinions are of no interest to anyone here, just as sex life and religious beliefs are none of our business.
As I said before, there is an abundance of political forums on the internet for anyone so inclined to go and vent. This is not the place, and I’m simply asking everyone to refrain from it.
If the cartoon of the day is political satire, then by all means, discuss the issue raised by the cartoon. But don’t pretend every cartoon is and opening for a political diatribe.
If that’s too much to ask, then adios amigo.
