Joe: What are you working on, Bob? Bob: This week's draft for my fantasy league. Joe: Really? I'd never guess you'd be into that! So who'd you pick? Bob: So far, Angelina Jolie, Gabrielle Anwar, and Carla Bruni! Joe: Oh... um... so who else is in this league? Bob: Why would I need anyone else? Joe: I think I'll stop asking questions now...

Jennifer Garner and Anne Hathaway are at the top of my draft board. “Redheads early, briunettes late” is my strategy …

Just what kind of league is Bob talking about?
pbarnrob almost 14 years ago
Um, don’t have a ‘Need To Know’ about this; if it were classified, I’d be OK with that…

A fantasy league in its truest sense!

I can think of a few more players I’d add to that league.

Is this the “League of Gentlewomen”?

So he likes them scrawny. (I love you as Fiona on “Burn Notice”, Gabrielle, but you’re just not my type.)

Lucy Liu, Drew Berrymore ..
The ”anti-fantasy league” for me includes Rosie O’Donnel and Roseanne Bar, as well as Jurdge Judy.

Gee, a true fantasy league. At least it isn’t “guests” from the Jerry Springer show.

I’m the Trainer and Physical Therapist in my Fantasy League.

He only wants those who are out of his league. Much harder to hit on a homer and have a real relationship. Too many Danae’s out there in BOTH leagues.

Those ladies are definitely in a league of their own.

Halle Berry and Charlize Theron have to be on any fantasy list!

I guess I’m an old curmudgeon…I try not to fantasize about anyone I’m pretty sure wouldn’t be fantasizing about me; it only leads to disappointment and bitterness.
peter0423 almost 14 years ago
Fantasizing is great and all that, but reality is always waiting on other side. It never goes away, it never gives up, and it always wins. All things considered, I prefer to find happiness in reality; at least it won’t go away when I come to my senses – maybe that’s why wisdom has been defined as “living in accordance with objective reality”.
Of course, you can refuse to accept reality, and fantasize on and on…the technical term for that is “psychosis”. Not nearly as much fun as it sounds like.

SVAATY_423 So how is your effort to find happiness in reality going?
dandrew55 almost 14 years ago
I have to admit his league is better then mine.

Far too many incompleted passes for me, dan.

Fantasy is often better than reality, that’s the allure of the internet.

Well, this could turn into a deep discussion, couldn’t it? But short answer, pretty well actually. Finding happiness in reality turns out to be no effort at all, because it has infinitely more variety than my imagination could come up with, :) and it’s all for free. I wish you as much, my friend.
