Looks like the “Tunnel of Love” (and yes, I feel a Dire Straits song coming on…); and lest I forget — #&*^#%@$?!?#&* (don’t know what I said there, but it might be pretty dirty! Or else, the meaning of life, whatever.
“It’s just a comment on “Todays Frilly-Pantied Politically-Correct” signs, fer cripes sake !”
Uh, I think not. This is far more cynical, it’s defining “Love” as a psychological aberration, brought on by biochemistry and social conformity. That’s why it’s the “State of Mind Fair”, and why there’s a psychotherapist at the entrance.
The PC version might read “Tunnel of Mutual Respect, Regard and Fulfillment Between Fully-Individuated Equals.”
Nothing at all (apart from being cumbersome; if it were adopted universally, the Beatles’ “All You Need Is Mutual Respect, Regard and Fulfillment with a Fully-Individuated Equal” would fill up an entire album side).
“Love” should be that, certainly. But “Love” is also pheromone-fried synapses and cultural expectations, and includes Obsessive Love, Love/Hate, Co-Dependence, Random Horniness, and other sorts of “Bad Love.” Love hurts. Love stinks. Only love can break your heart. If I never loved I never would have cried. But love makes the world go ’round, nonetheless.

I read about a dating service that sends you to a farm to pull weeds. Hope they got rid of the fire ants.

It looks to me like something Doc Martin would say. I happen to think this is a pretty funny strip in a been-there-done-that kind of way!
