Jeeze dude, if you had gotten a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant and worked your way up, you’d be in Chicago makin’ the big bucks….and hangin’ with Chicago girls…Look around you when you go there and get back to me…Yeah, sophisticated, pretty women…

When these Holly weird types learn that the money is fleeting as is youth and all the plastic surgery in the world won’t fix their crybaby attitudes….then maybe …just maybe the movie industry will survive!

Anybody ever hear of the movie HealtH? It was made in good old Pinellas County, where I live, at the Don Cesar hotel (a big, pink 1920’s landmark). It featured Carol Burnett, James Garner, Glenda Jackson, Lauren Bacall, and was directed by Robert Altman. It was so bad that it was never distributed nationally. However, we did see it once on television. Worst film I ever saw.

tygrkhat and route66, Thanks for mentioning the most disappointing movie ever offered to science fiction aficionados…

Why can’t somebody do justice to Edgar Rice Burrough’s Mars stories? Damn that movie pissed me off! The technology is there now! Those novels have at least five blockbuster movies in them. It really is a shame that the Tarzan books caught on so well…He wrote many more of them, and I don’t blame him a bit. I like making money too. But his achievement in the Mars legacy is unprecedented in literature. It makes the The Lord of the Rings, and Dune look like soap operas…Burroughs populated Mars and it’s moons and Venus with the most imaginative life forms ever conceived!…

I know that sounds a bit hyperbolic, but I’m sure their are a lot of people that would back me up on that…Go to the library and try to call my bluff….I dare you…(Feeling kinds frisky this morning…)

So I ask the question…Why the hell isn’t somebody making those movies…The stories are already written! The creatures can now be created on film…Ahhhhhhhh…

If I’m supposed to have special sympathy for the ageing woman, it’s not working. It’s called the ENTERTAINMENT industry. They will make movies with ageing female leads when research tells them that there’s a large enough number of people who will pay to see such movies. Or Hollywood could just sneak one into one of their standard “America sucks” films. Those seem popular.
