Danae: So here's what I'm thinking about a better system than the school bus... Ned: No. Not again. Danae: But...but...wait... Ned: NO! Danae: Maybe this time will be different. Ned: And MAYBE I'll win the lottery. Danae: But you never play the lottery. Ned: Exactly. I already know how it ends. Danae: ! *Music note* Lucy: I'm having a hard time believing he actually said "yes" to this... Danae: Well, technically, he said "maybe", which I take to really mean,"go for it".
Pretty much my “lottery theory” as well: the odds of winning don’t change significantly regardless of whether I buy a ticket or not. If I don’t buy a ticket, there is still some sort of possibility of a remote, rich relative dying and leaving me a fortune; the winning ticket could get dropped and blown by the wind into my car; or … well, you get the picture.
