I hate to sound like comicsfan, but I went to a Catholic school for 9 years..We called our teachers, who were nuns, penguins…That’s what they looked like….Fortunately, they wore long beads and you could hear them coming and stop what you shouldn’t be doing….
I went to St. Joseph’s School in Monroe MI for a couple years. The nuns there wore blue and white but did have the rosaries as you described. We swore to our parents that they used them to beat us. Our parents, having been raised in the Church, told us it was just their……habit .
My humming bird feeder seems to have been abandoned a week ago. I think they are on their way to Mexico. They know something we don’t. Winter’s gonna be a b***h!
On the Canadian prairies our most popular winter sport isn’t hockey…it’s getting out our aerosol cans and trying to shoot holes in the ozone layer. It seems to be working. And if polar ice cap melts? Well, that’s life.
“Slow to us, but fast for paleo-time in relations to large climate modification.”-Hmmm.But wouldn’t the warming increase its pace as the amount of surface area no longer able to maintain cooling by evaporative processes and heat sink effects increases? In fact of scientific realities, the Sun is very close to Earth and it is very hot where there is no water to convert sunlight to kinetic energy, and inferior convection as well, due to reduced gas expansion in the absence of evaporation. And, since heat is transferred by convection, the heavier CO2 isn’t really much of an issue since it is found less at the higher altitudes from which radiant heat loss to the vacuum, notoriously inefficient as it is, actually occurs.

It means that they are adapting.Given that they are smarter than we are, they will probably be running things within five years.

My fuzzy Zen seems extra fuzzy for early October, so the penguins may be on to something….Who knew I’d find my Zen, and he’d be a horse?

More seriously, the colder our winters, the hotter the southern hemispheres summers have been. Go figure, it’s a global thing…

Maybe weather changing; or immigrants? So there we go again, complaints that they are not ‘white enough’; to quote one commentator, Ann . . .

Well, that explains why the aspiring world rulers all feel that automobiles are the greatest threat to their ultimate domination.
