It doesn’t work. If rice absorbed water so easily why do we have to boil it?
Electronics can survive immersion – if they are turned off before getting wet and well dried before being turned back on.
I have put computer keyboards – yea, even wireless (sans batteries) in the dishwasher (low temp – heat also kills electronics) and dried them out over the heating vent for a couple of days.
I once was part of a cleanup exercise to clean up computers that were in a flood. They were so caked in mud, we hosed them clean, took the boards out and hung them on a wash line to dry. This is not the recommended way to clean a computer. Compressed air normally works just fine.
