Thank god, for my driving test I didn’t have to parallel park. I didn’t even do very well in the parking lot. The tester threw up his hands and said I passed, whew!
I’ve parallel parked everything from a VW bug to a full sized school bus, don’t any more because my depth of vision has begun to fade. Back-in or head-in for me from now on. Thank gawd for my backup camera!!
Still baffles me that automatic parallel parking is not a standard feature among new cars. They have the sensors for it and the software to perform it was demonstrated ages ago.
I only recall parallel parking twice. And that was my driver license exam over fifty years ago. I remember the examiner telling me he normally had people do it three times but I did it so well he wouldn’t bother with the third attempt. I’ve never been in a situation where I needed to do it again. Everywhere I go has a parking ramp or lot.
