HEY CREW HEADS UP!!!!!!! I JUST HAD A TROJAN TRY TO INVADE MY COMPUTER VIA ONE OF THOSE POP UPS THIS SITE HAS.

WATCH FOR THIS!!!! IT IS INSIDIOUS…INFECTED MY HUSBAND’S LAPTOP LATE LAST YEAR. IT LOOKS LIKE A WINDOWS SECURITY ALERT BUT ITS NOT. ITS A MALWARE PROGRAM THAT WANTS YOU TO “PAY” FOR THEIR ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM…WHICH IS JUST A SHELL…NOT ANTIVIRUS PROTECTION IN IT AT ALL. IF IT COMES UP…CLICK OUT RIGHT A WAY…IF YOU DOWNLOAD IT ITS REAL TIME CONSUMING TO GET IT OUT.

Now those mice. I wonder if those pucks are frozen like the real ones. In that case …it gives “slapshot” a whole new meaning!

Fledermause, I had that pop up while I was on Twitter and knew right away it was a virus. You have to click on the “x” not “cancel” and it will come up twice, and I have my pop-ups blocked, too! It’s insidious!

We should not get a vicious popup like that to begin with, but with the Genius upgrade you don’t get the popups.

ahoy Crew i, too, have had this malware thing pop up on here - twice. and it seems to slip right by the protection on my system, too. frustrating to have to click everything off to make it fo away and then go back in, but i guess it beats the alternative. if it comes in as a pop-up, wouldn’t there be something that gocomics can do to prevent it from doing so? presumably, they are the ones allowing the pop-ups in the first place.

as for the strip, nothing like a puck to the head to straighten you up!

Patrice…here is the strangest thing…I use Norton Internet Security( which by the way did block and quarantine this thing) and I have pop ups blocked on all sites with the exceptions of shopping sites such as Sears. I have checked and re-checked my settings for Go Comics and somehow I still am getting pop ups. Up until today I could live with the screen savers etc but when that “proantivirus” tried to do a back door end run on my system…it angered me …I know how bad it is because my husband got infected by this thing late last year. Thankfully we found a fix and were able to get it purged after several “cleanings” . I would appreciate any offering of “settings” from “The Crew” so I can end these pop ups once and for all.

I agree that if you are “Genius” that you don’t get pop-ups on this site. I have never had any on here. So, that might be one answer, or clue, as to what is going on. It’s too bad you have to pay for something to be free of these pop-ups.

Try using Firefox with an add-in called No-Script for your browser, it’s very strong against probs like this. Or use a Mac computer. Or both. No pop-ups.

Too bad the Olympics don’t have amatures anymore, for most of the team sports. A lot of talent is going to waste, out there. Morning crew!!!
