Right now I’d love to be able to erase a passing T-storm.

Hah! We actually had a thunderstorm – pretty heavy rain – back in February without melting the snow; it just packed it down some. Otherwise there’s not been a sign of a thaw here in northeast Wisconsin since it froze over well before calendar winter.

Cold and snow are healthier than hot and muggy and moldy. Healthiest people live in Minnesota, combination of weather and being Norwegian. Cold weather kills bugs, too.

What’s the difference between winter on the Oregon coast, and summer on the Oregon coast? In the summer you don’t have to wear a sweater under your raincoat.

Mmm, I love thunderstorms, too. I’d just rather they didn’t come during snowstorms like the last one a few days ago. Sigh.

ViceAdmiral, thank you for sharing those great pictures. I’m not sure if they make me feel better about our winter or make me fear what lurks above us. The jet stream was clear down to TEXAS the other day??!?

34 degree temps hardly make me think of summer, Fellow Baby, and north of I10 they were reporting sleet and freezing rain. Schools were being closed on the north side.

Been way too real this winter. About the fifth time I’ve shoveled that white mess out of my parking pad. My neurosurgeon would kill me if he knew I was doing that after blowing out a disk in my back. I’m just glad they backed off on the forecast for more crap later this week. And those plows have got to slow down!! It’s only 35 MPH past my house; they’re doing practically 60! From the most recent snow this weekend, they threw snow, salt, and amalgamated crap 15-20 feet off the road and all over my truck — which was parked sideways to the road, almost to the edge of the parking pad, and was covered in salt residue all the way up past the side view mirror. Good thing I turned it in against the window, or I wouldn’t be able to see out of it. They came through here so fast and so recklessly one winter that they knocked my mailbox 150 feet down the street. Made the state come out and put it back up, since I live on a state road. State had to put the mailbox in twice, since the first time they put it on the wrong side of the road.
