It could always be worse. The little feller could be a porcupine.

Well, this situation could stink for Louie. Careful there, buddy.

I went out one night to find our cat and bring her in. I was calling her and I said, oh there you are and I scooped up a skunk. It was hearts and valentines for that skunk. She just cuddled right into my arms. Well my mother wouldn’t let me bring her into their house. We had a great time together until we moved. The next time I encountered a skunk I was on my own and I brought him into the house. I named him Pepe le Pu. The den was his room. He had an earthbox which he used and that is also where I fed him. He would sit beside me at night and watch television. He was wonderful and I never had any trouble with him. They can love just like any other animal. I know you all think I was nuts but they can make good pets if you are alone.
