Ugh! I hate maraschinos.

This will put you off of the maraschino cherries. They start out as a sweet variety of cherry, then are bleached white using sulfur dioxide and calcium chloride, then soaked in food coloring and sugar syrup to give them the sweet, bright red color. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maraschino_cherry
