Actually, I always maintained that anyone caught “smoking” cigarettes could be charged with “Attempting Suicide” in the states where such an act is considered illegal. And, on a “lighter note” – shouldn’t Attempting suicide be a capital crime? Shouldn’t we “help out” those inept klutzes who attempt, but fail, to “off” themselves?
I’ve often heard “suicide” described as a cry for “help” – Shouldn’t we really “help” them?
And, before you get all “snotty” about my “insensitivity” – yes, I’ve had a suicide in my family – my paternal grandfather committed suicide (inoperable cancer), so I’ve been there – just from the other side, and, frankly, anyone who believes in the "sanctity "of human life above all else pretty much fits the definition of a pathological sadist – in my book.
