    I don’t think it was chocolate. Many of the cheaper candy bars just say “chocolaty” which can be translated as “contains no chocolate.”

    I remember the first “dime” candy bars. Most were a nickel, but two or three jumped to a dime while I was playing little league baseball. But Chunky bars were consistent. They were called the “thickest nickel candy bar you can buy.”

    I saw one the other day for a couple of bucks.

    I think there were still dime candy bars around 1970, but that year my dimes were going for packs of 10 baseball cards (plus a stick of nearly-inedible chewing gum). Still have a lot of those cards and they’re worth more than a penny apiece now.
