back when I worked at a donation trailer of The Salvation Army, I would bring a radio and listen to the classical music station (songs with lyrics — rock, country, gospel, etc. — with would be distracting) and sometimes I wouldn’t hear the compositions’ names and composers thereof when a donor would come by
Looking back at the early days, it’s surprising to discover that initially Charlie Brown was a bit of an S. O. B. channeling the spirit of a grumpy old man.
Happens to me all the time in the car. I’ll be rocking on some composer’s music (or a really good orchestra/conductor for a piece I already know) and after 15 minutes they’ll get to the end and I’m listening for the info… and some joker cuts me off and then hangs in my face and while I’m trying to extricate myself the info flies by and I miss it. Almost makes me want to cause an accident…
On the news they sometimes have a teaser like “Stay tuned for the story”, then they go to a commercial so i turned the channel, and when I go back is missed the story! The present political commercials are particularly annoying!
Hubby does it to me every time he walks in the house. I think he starts his sentence before opening the door. Whatever computer or radio interview I might have been enjoying is drowned out at a crucial part. Of course, I know better than to watch live TV.
I bloody HATE radio. I only have about a fifteen-minute drive to work which means twice a day I listen to about five minutes of radio static as I flip through channels trying to find some music, five minutes of commercials when I finally give up and pick a station, and five minutes of one song ending and another beginning, with the DJ blathering in between about everything except the blessed name of the artist or song. Thank Euterpe for the CD player in my truck. I used to get classical music samplers from BBC Music and similar magazines every month and now I have an enormous collection, very few of which I can remember the names of, but love listening to.
Anyway, I originally came in to say I absolutely love Schroeder’s expression in the last panel. That’s how I feel all the time now. ▪⌢▪
There was a classical music morning program years ago. The 400 Hour sponsored by the Northwestern Railroad. The guy running the program referred to the “Bartered Bride” as the “Battered Bride”. Other pieces received the same treatment.

We get party political broadcasts. Or as we call them sitcoms.

If only there had been the ability to ‘rewind’ radio programmes, as we can do now with tv programmes!

I hate when that happens!

If that happens to me I try to shush them down, but that’s always taken as a slight and they start in again twice as loud.

This is why I don’t listen to the radio. Oh, and all the stupid commercials.

Anyone that’s around a ‘talkative’ person, knows that feeling. It makes you thankful for Google sound search nowadays.

I worked in radio for 40 years. For God’s sake, call the radio station and ask for the program director

Call the station, Schroeder…

Now, radio stations can have websites, and put their play list on the website.
