Well donā€™t leave me in suspense ā€” what happens? Do the three little kittens ever FIND their mittens?

just watch out, Lucy, as you read and walk in unison as you might bump into a tree, a wall, or even a car in operation

We had the Little Golden Book of that as kids. Beautiful illustrations.

I was talked out of reading ā€œLord Of The Fliesā€ and ā€œAnimal Farmā€ in high school.

I was sooo disappointed in the Sophia Loren classic Boy On A Dolphin. After all the animal stories I was reading, I thought it would be about a boy and his pet dolphin!

Someday there might be a pandemic Lucy and you will find the love of reading a particularly wonderful passion to have at such a time.

My first book was ā€˜Are You My Mother?ā€™ Itā€™s about a chick who falls from the nest and wanders around asking every creature it runs into the title question. Iā€™ll never forget my excitement when I ran to the kitchen and read it to my mother. That moment when all the marks on the page suddenly made sense.

I was four when that happened. My older brother, of course, came home from school and beat me up for learning younger than he did.
