Mars is smaller than Earth, and its gravity is only 37% as strong as Earth’s. That means you could jump about four feet up off the ground.

Silly Earthlings. To make that jump it has to be head first.

Did Go Comics decide to stop showing Sunday editions of the early Peanuts comics? They had been appearing on Fridays. The last Sunday edition of Peanuts Begins was almost 2 months ago.

After the infamous 1938 War of the Worlds radio broadcast, an editorial cartoon showed Martians watching Earth with all of its problems, crazes and foibles. Their conclusion? Ah, we wouldn’t go down there on a bet.

In Frederic Brown’s hilarious 1955 sci-fi classic, Martians, Go Home, the Martians arrived here by kwimming. It was never quite satisfactorily explained what that was, except that it didn’t involve machinery; apparently it was more of a mental process.
