Charlie Brown glances at his kite, which is caught in a tree. "Oh, good grief! Not AGAIN!"<br> <br> He stares at the ground in front of the tree: "I can't stand it.."<br> <br> "Kite caught in the same tree again, eh, Charlie Brown?" Lucy asks as she approaches. Charlie Brown holds on to the kite string and stands next to the tree.<br> <br> Lucy asks, "Why don't yo let me YELL at it? Why don't you let me yell at it for you, Charlie Brown?"<br> <br> He relents: "I don't care WHAT you do! You can yell at 'til your HEAD falls off as far as I'M concerned..." Lucy says, "GOOD."<br> <br> Charlie Brown watches Lucy curiously: "!" Lucy glowers and works up her anger.<br> <br> Lucy yells: "YOU STUPID KITE! COME DOWN OUT OF THAT KITE!!!"<br> <br> Kites tumble towards them. Lucy and Charlie Brown jump as the kites hit them.<br> <br>

Interesting that the kites came down on command, considering that in later strips the tree became known as the “kite-eating tree.” Or did Lucy shake up the tree enough that it decided it would be wise to let the kites go?
