Linus lies on his stomach<br> <br> Linus sits staring at the record player. Lucy stands and clutches her chest; she is gritting her teeth and shaking.<br> <br> "I CAN'T STAND IT!" She hollers and walks off. Linus looks up.<br> <br> Linus looks at the record player, still playing.<br> <br> "What's the matter? Don't you LIKE Christmas carols?" Linus calls after her.<br> <br>

My father had a colleague like this, he sang christmas carrols till carnival (mid- to end of February, sometimes early March) and then sang carnival songs till June.

In the old paperback collections, the original dates were omitted. This one was funny enough in that format, but it’s funnier when you see that it originally appeared in February.
