Snoopy stands by the mailbox and holds a letter. He reads, "Dear Contributor, We are returning your stupid story."<BR><BR> Snoopy sits on the doghouse and continues to read, "You are a terrible writer. Why do you bother us? We wouldn't buy one of your stories if you paid us."<BR><BR> Snoopy reads, "Leave us alone. Drop dead. Get lost."<BR><BR> Snoopy lies on the doghouse and thinks, "Probably a form rejection slip . . ."<BR><BR>
This was adapted into the stage musical “Snoopy!!!” after the song “The Great Writer”. In the show, after saying the punchline, Snoopy declares, “Tomorrow we start on the trilogy!”
