Charlie Brown walks past Sally. Sally asks, "Did you have a good time at the party, big brother?"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown replies, "Frankly, no! I fell into the wading pool, and everybody laughed, and then somebody said something about how dumb I was so I came home . . ."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown sits in a chair and frowns. Sally says, "I know how you feel, big brother . . . Maybe you'd be better off if you just stayed home and played with your dog . . ."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown replies, "I can't even do that . . . He's still at the party!"<BR><BR>
One of the reasons that I dislike Sally is that she only shows contempt toward her older brother, who has always been protective of her. This is one of the few times when I actually see her be even halfway decent toward him. The only other time was when she met Marcie for the first time, who came to see Charlie Brown who had taken to his room after Peppermint Patty crudely insulted him. Sally said to Marcie that if her brother didn’t want to see her, she should leave. https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1971/10/12
