Today’s strip made me double-over and choke. When social darwinism becomes real darwinism, you will do what needs to be done to survive, and to heck with social conventions.
According to an answer from Yahoo Answers about middle class morality, a line from “Pygmalion” goes something on the order of, “I am poor. I can’t afford morals.” Presumably, since Charlie Brown and Sally are brother and sister, they would have the same economic standing. So, if Charlie Brown can afford morals, Sally should certainly be able to. Maybe Sally is just one of those people who can’t admit to fallibility.

If Charlie Brown thinks it’s always wrong to lie, wait until he gets married and his wife asks “Does this dress make me look fat?”

Charlie Brown will wind up marrying Lucy. She’ll kill him before he gets to that stage…

Ah. This is the sequence that ends with Charlie Brown pulling out a big gun to use on his sister. (That’s a metaphor.)

Sally’s been watching “My Fair Lady”, where Eliza’s father gives a great speech about “middle class morality”.
