What year is this from? I tried seriously blowing it up to get the original copyright year (between panels two and three, and can’t tell if I’m reading 1969 or 1989. Or even something else altogether. Looks like this should have been part of the strips She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown was based on, so it wouldn’t have been ’89 since that came out in ’80.
As a skater, I always love Schulz’s skating strips best. His animation of the jumps and spins is accurate and so much fun to watch. I love strips from earlier years where Snoopy mimics a Russian coach and is coaching (Lucy, I believe) out on the ice at 5am! --and he tells her she is not Peggy Fleming.
@YngvarFrom yesterday: Maybe GoComics follows the same format as the newspapers. This could be a contractual stipulation… I am just making a guess. I don’t like it when they cut out panels. It’s as bad as deleting scenes in movies, another one of my pet peeves.
Thanks to everyone who said ‘69. Did find out the She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown was based on a series that ran in ‘74 so this wasn’t a part of that. Feels like it oughta be given the skirt Peppermint Patti is wearing. Given her personality skirts tend to be out of place on her.

Yes, Peppermint Patty, that is quite an odd, mute kid of a friend Chuck has.

It’s probably the first time I’ve seen Peppermint Patty wear a skirt. Usually she wears shorts and sandals.

Peppermint Patty to the others:
“How weird. The funny looking kid with the big nose asked me if I wanted to skate!”
