I went to an ophthalmologist, and after examining me, he asked “Is there glaucoma in your family?” I told him there wasn’t as far as I knew. My mom, who lived in a different part of the country, was visiting and staying at my sister’s house. I went to visit her that evening, and told her I had gone to the ophthalmologist, and that he said I wasn’t blind. She responded “Did he ask if there was glaucoma in your family?”
Bad eyesight can kill you depending on what activities you are involved in. Hopefully she’ll get her vision corrected before she attempts to get a driver’s license.
Every now and then it’s weird to get a reminder of just how independent children are in the Peanuts-verse. Not only did the doctor allow Pep to book an appointment on her own, they also apparently took a referral from another patient Pep’s age. They never asked “Where are your parents?”

I could never call a doctor “Doc”. Sounds disrespectful.

Not that much longer if you don’t stop asking questions like that.

It turns out you’ll live a very long time Patty. In fact, you’ll stop aging around 7 or 8.

Schulz must have taken reference sketches when he went to his own ophthalmologist, that’s an extremely accurate slit lamp she’s leaning into!
