Rat: This university didn't like this comedian's views on religion, so they circulated a petition to stop him from speaking.
Pastis: I thought the answer to speech we didn't like was more more speech. Not the banning the speaker.
Rat: Stop intolerant.
It’s freedom of speech as long as you don’t say too much. Here in Canada we have hate speech laws, so no more “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits on classic rock radio stations. Why? Coz there’s a line about a little f*****t with an earring & some make-up. We sure did speculate at the time, were they singing about Billy Idol or Michael Jackson.
