Generally speaking, bald truth is offensive. Even if they know it’s a lie, people appreciated it if one goes to the effort to concoct and sustain a lie for their “benefit.” Just ask our Potemkin President. (Of course, he’s no good at sustaining a lie…)
When Rat and Larry tell competing lies, which lie wins? Or will both switch over to the other’s lie? (Seems to me I’ve seen this happening several times just recently, but I can’t seem to recall the context………)
This is why we establish a Narrative and a Big Lie. Anything that doesn’t agree with the Narrative and negates any portion of the Big Lie is never to be spoken. Those things that move forward the Narrative, or further entrench the Big Lie, are to be disseminated.
You really only have to remember that you are awesome and everybody else is stupid, then only say or admit things that agree with those two Fundamental Truths,

As Elim Garak said about “The Boy who cried Wolf”, “Never tell the same lie twice.”

Mark Twain’s " On The Decay Of The Art Of Lying by Mark Twain" is an excellent and funny read (and short, as it was a speech originally).

Yesterday, a Republican congressman was asked if President Trump lies. His answer was that he doesn’t lie, he engages in hyperbole. Scary stuff.

No problem, Rat — just lie again and say, “You’re wrong, I didn’t say that at all.”
I’m sure Donald the Rump can give you some lessons.

Keep trying, Rat. You’ll get there eventually.
