When I was growing up, if you wanted coffee you made it yourself or you bought it at a cafe or diner. And it cost… about 10% of an hour’s wages, for an entry level employee, more or less. Now, $tarbuck$ makes it so it’s full of fancy calories and costs closer to 35% (even 50%) of an hour’s wages. As far as I can see, this is a losing proposition for the customers, but they seem to be… addicted.
