Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for January 30, 2013
January 29, 2013
January 31, 2013
Transcript:
Phoebe: Mom, could you go to the store today? Mom: I guess. Why? Phoebe: I fed all the peanut butter to my unicorn. Mom: I keep getting banned from online parenting groups for "making things up." Phoebe: Sorry.
I can imagine the comments from Mrs. Phoebe’s Mom’s friends. “Stop making up stories about unicorns, such things don’t exist. If your little girl had a Griffin maybe we would believe you.” Say any one ever read “There’s no such thing as dragons” ?
What kind of chat group is this? Mommy gossip thrives on chaos. .http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html.unicorns are super mild compared to The Ball that Started it All
original ebay auction text is about 3/4 down the page. Too bad the comments about shaving the cat, head stuck in railing, what are my kids doing at your house – not included in this repost.
Mom needs to read the Because I said So from this ladyI was a little at a loss. I mean, those parenting books don’t tell you how to break up a fight over an imaginary friend.
At least the unicorn has yet to discover the refrigerator and eat up all the salad greens, carrots, apples, cellary, mellons, bannanas, grapes, oranges ….I know my horse would.

Hard for the other parents to sympathize with your unicorn problems I guess.

Don’t knock it, Mom. At least you got off easier than the lady in the James Thurber story, ’The Unicorn in the Garden."

You’d think Marigold could just whip some up with her magic horn. Or check if Todd has some peanut butter cups.

Can Phoebe fix this for her mom? So her mom can get back to her parenting group?

“I fed all the peanut butter to my unicorn.” There’s a line you won’t see in Tolstoy.

@kaykeyser, I loved There’s No Such Thing as a Dragon when I was a kid! That little dragon was a heart-stealer…no matter how big!
