Transcript:
Phoebe: Getting supplies for the new school year is exciting!
Mom: I always thought so too. In my dreams, I can still remember what a new "Trapper Keeper" smelled like.
Phoebe: I wanna get a scented case for my phone!
Mom: The torch is passed.
I loved my Trapper Keepers [and pretty much any organizational items] but never could use them to what I felt was their full potential—still not sure what that would be, but definitely felt like somehow I wasn’t doing enough to be worthy of owning one. I do still have a binder, for certain “important” artwork, which is important in that I want to keep it but have not actually managed to sort it in any functional way.
Actually, I still go through the Back to School stuff and browse backpacks all the time, even though I still have a perfectly good one I’ve sewn all kinds of patches on [Invader ZIM, various web comic exclusives]. Some mystic “my life will finally come together once I organize all my stuff properly” vibe.
