Wait, you mean all this time it’s been “highness” and not “hind-ass”?

That’s why, even with royalty, it is only “highness” once than “ma’am” or “sir” after that.

Be careful what you wish for.

“Lord High Executioner” would be out of character for Phoebe. For Dakota, on the other hand……..

“I’m not trying to be your Highness, ’cause that minus is too low to see.”

This little exchange might be a hint of a long-in-coming plot element. On a few previous occasions, Marigold has referred to Phoebe as being a princess (once in a reverie—one of the rhyming ones that they both have had, where their private thoughts about each other are expressed—she referred to Phoebe as a “princess of suburbia,” and in her mental image, Phoebe was wearing a real crown). Also:

Another time, Phoebe suddenly “teleported” from her yard to a snow-covered mountaintop, after texting something on her phone, and found herself with Marigold there. Asking what happened, Marigold said, “You texted that you wanted me to bring you mountains. An impossible request, but one worthy of a princess. So instead, I brought you to the mountains!" Phoebe complained, “Stupid spellcheck!” (she had typed that she wanted Marigold to bring her her mittens).
