This story arc is all over the place. We have Phoebe practicing for the play, Marigold becoming a snail, the menicorn, and now Marigold’s cousin’s wedding.
Some things about being married just work a LOT better with two entities. Like that itch right… there… in the middle of your back. Not mention the good stuff. Like having someone to share meals with.
“If only I could meet me, I’m sure we’d get on fine. We’d talk about each other until the end of time!” – Captain Flannel, Captain Zed and the Zee Zone.
Now we get to it – PHE doesn’t like herself; MAR does not like herself. Deep down, does Dana like herself? There is autobiography in this strip. I hope not here; suicide is the self-divorce option of humans. Enchanted forrest divorce wipes out all memory and personality.
PHE is an amateur handling friendships especially with herself.
MAR has more self loathing experience. Why did her parents throw her away – the twin of an unfortunate nostril isn’t worth raising?Released from terms of wish, MAR returns to PHE like – Spanish court ladies keep dwarves around to up their own beauty by contrast?Would she have any friends for her own sake if she fell under an ugliness spell?
I’m betting NO! from the number of times MAR lets PHE set the rules. They are good for each other. The fun of the strip is PHE doesn’t understand unicorn rules, or emotion. The clash is hilarious.

Marriage is so bad that it doesn’t even work out by yourself. Honestly, I’m not surprised.

How is it possible to marry and divorce yourself? Well, for unicorns, but for us?

I’m getting the impression it’s pretty common for a unicorn to be married to themselves.

I have to wonder what event(s) led to that divorce. Clearly, she still loves herself.
