Irrelevant to the comic above, but I found an interview with Dana on YouTube posted a few weeks ago commemorating the strip’s upcoming tenth anniversary. Dana came up with the idea to have Phoebe finally turn ten for the strip’s tenth birthday (which coincidentally happens to be right before Dana’s own birthday), and I’m looking forward to that.
She also revealed a bit more information about the Nickelodeon project. Apparently it’s going to be a movie first, followed by a series, and it’s currently still in the scripting phase. But that’s all she knows about it, and she doesn’t even know if it’s going to be 2D or CGI. (She would prefer 2D animation, as would I.)
The fact that Nick is leaving the creator in the dark about her own work admittedly makes me a bit nervous. Also, will the movie be theatrical or sent straight to streaming on Paramount+? Hopefully they’ll reveal more on the strip’s tenth anniversary.
That’s really cool! I noticed that Nickelodeon recently started a Big Nate-cartoon that’s CGI instead of 2D-animation. I kind of hope it’ll traditional 2D-animation instead of CGI. I like computer animation just fine, but there’s just something I find really nostalgic about 2D-animation.

Even if it takes a whole month for Marigold to reunite with Phoebe in the daily strips, at least we can rest knowing she’ll be with us in the Sundays.

Phoebe should have saved this for the Fourth of July. One more could tip the scales.

Lots of people say, “Why me?” Others like Phoebe say, “Try me!”

if not with sparkles, how can one make a unicorn jealous?

The mere statement itself implies jealousy…..

These Sunday strips always throw me off. Before I read it I thought she was pointing because she finally found Marigold.
