Lee Enterprises rolled out a new comics page on its papers this week that only features 10 AMU strips, excluding P&HU. At least one those papers carried this strip but doesn’t now:
Oh mari. I am really antipating actually getting into the class as i’m curious if anything has actually changed, mostly with Dakota as her relationship with Phoebe seems to be one of the few things that changes and evolves at a steady clip (Other things do it’s just much slower, not that I mind as the strip is still excellent)
Marigold would probably not respond unless you used her full name “Marigold Heavenly Nostrils” (sorry, I can’t do the proper pronunciation here, lack of unicorn-fonts). Otherwise, Phoebe may be referring to any number of unicorns whose name starts with “Marigold”.
I was not fond of school until I started having crushes, but I have vivid memories of the first day of first grade; the first day of a grade I can’t remember when the classroom smelled all fresh and new and was bright and pretty; and signing myself up for 7th grade (because my mom had died the previous fall) with the reputedly meanest teacher in the school. She was. She didn’t like me from the minute she set eyes on me. But I had satisfaction later that year. We were doing out-loud reading. I’ve always been a fast talker and a fast reader. When I read my piece, she called me out for reading so fast (which I wasn’t aware of doing) and said I couldn’t possibly understand what I had just read. I promptly gave her a breakdown of what I had just read and she left me alone after that. But she was still incredibly mean.

Which means Phoebe will NOT shout Marigold’s name. That’ll show her!

If you look VERY closely, underneath the “Welcome Back” banner hanging in front of the school are the words, “mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!!”.

Unicorns are part horse but mostly all cat.

It’s been a long time since she’s said “Unicorn!” in the strip. Anyway, great shot of the school in panel 1.

And that would also be a great form of entertainment for all your schoolmates.

I laughed out loud at this one. And nice perspective on panel one. So much detail packed into one little panel!
