My little sister was 15 years younger than me, so I was on my own living in an old farmhouse I’d rented and had her stay over for a while in the summer.
I was going down to the basement, which was cobblestone walled and dirt floored, and told her to watch out for the cobwebs.
She then asked me what they look like…I said “The cobwebs?” and she said “No…the cobs! I never saw one!”
The spiders land with it’s webs on the wrong place so the spiders wait to catch the preys; therefore, the spiders will end up a dead for nothing. For example, when I got into the shower in the bathroom, I found the spider with it’s web at the corner and then, I kill it right away. Too bad! It lands on the wrong place at wrong time. Sighhhhhhh! with rolling eyes up/down!
a while back ago my wife told me in detail about how someone told her cobwebs aren’t made from spiders, but rather dust. She believed it. I promptly told her that person was a moron and she should believe everything she hears….I still read this comic to her every time I re-read it.
I too have been told cobwebs aren’t from spiders! I was told that they came from the fireplace (in this person’s house) but I don’t have a fireplace and my house still has them! I looked it up anyway lol

Watch your head, Earl. You’re about to get dusted.

Why anyone would believe that cobwebs weren’t made by spiders is beyond me.

And that is why I don’t feel bad about not cleaning up the cobwebs. The spiders have gone to all that hard work….it’s just wrong. ;)

Good question, Earl. It was worth a chuckle to me, anyway.
FishStix didn’t google that one though.

The cobwebs in my house are made by daddy long legs, which, though arachnids, are not spiders. Bill Nye the Science Guy can’t be wrong :-)
