I’m with Earl on this one. The young think they’re going to go out and change the world for the better, and believe the old resent them because they failed when they had their chance. The old, however, understand that they never taught the young what the real world is really like, but don’t have the heart to tell them. Eventually, the young find out how difficult it is to change anything once they discover how the real world works.
Even when the old try to tell the young what the real world is like, Edcole, the young don’t listen, or don’t believe it, or don’t think it will apply to them. It was ever thus.
And maybe it’s just as well. Frustration, disappointment, and discouragement are (sometimes) the natural plumage of the old — but are nothing less than tragic in the young. Let them be cockeyed optimists while they can.
I have an older mom she had me too late in life. I had my daughter too late in life as well almost 30. I can’t go to my mom for advice she wouldn’t know. Also I remember from HS a situation she messed me up bad on grade’s. So with my own kids I make sure this didn’t happen. My daughter knows she can talk with me I give her much better advise.

“Almost 30” is “too late in life”? What century are you from? Does being unmarried at 19 still make a girl an “old maid” too? If 30 is too late, it has more to do with your attitude than your age. I know plenty of people who have had children at 30 or older and are wonderful parents. Fifties would be “too old” in my book, but certainly NOT 30.
You can google it, but you still won’t know what it’s like being old. You will only know what someone else said about it. What then? Gonna google to see if what they said was accurate? You could be on google until you got old!!!
