The question is, why *isn’t funner a word? The meaning is clear. if funnier is a word, why not funner? For that matter, why isn’t “ain’t” a word? It’s commonly used and people know what it means.
i had a grandson like this. wake up, go to work M-F, he’s passed out on the couch. came home, sitting on the couch. 24/7, no change, a lazy parasite. he left, no return invite given. he did well: he’s a wanted fugitive, now. heh. you’re giving the kid good OJT on how to Fail, pearl.
Seems like I remember a rule from English class, ages ago, where if it’s one syllable, you can add ‘er’ and ‘est’. I looked it up, and ‘funner’ is in the dictionary.
(From 2 days ago). “How ‘bout do-do Gramma, is do-do a word? What’s the correct way to say do-do Gramma?” To me that would be funner than complaining about how unfunner the day is getting. Tease Gramma a little, she can take it.

It’s not funner when your grammer corrects your grammar.

Go outside and squish some bugs. There’s nothing funner than that!

It’s more funner to bring the bugs in for Grammer.
