I’m betting it was grandpa.

Actually, they would have used chamber pots at night in those days. Google “chamber pots” if you don’t know what I mean.

Outhouse? Probably was Grandpa. Santa doesn’t come in the front or back door.

Couldn’t have been war and peace. Out houses didn’t have lights for late at night.

Folks, he wouldn’t have had the Sears catalog for reading purposes.

some people didn’t want the “smell” of a chamber pot in the house (even if it was in (what was called) a “mother in law chair”..so they took a hike outside and felt a nice cool breeze.

Hope he had the back flap fastened up.

One thing about an outhouse in the winter. You didn’t waste any time , there.

When I was a kid I can recall that my great grandmother had an outhouse. They didn’t install indoor plumbing until she had a stroke…I think that was sometime around 1958. The local hardware store actually stocked chamber pots at that time. This was in Harford county, MD, BTW, about 25 miles from Baltimore. Amazing.

Pickles, Cat friends, you may enjoy this, it starts with a dog but it gets better.

This dog is incredibly gentle with this little fella. Also she has such a loving, caring look on her face. It’s beautiful.
