Maybe Earl is curmudgeon because he wasn’t casted in the 1993 film “Gumpy Old Men.”

He’s grumpy because Opal vexes him so. The old part is pretty self-explanatory.

Opal, quit picking on Earl!

I always wanted to grow up to be a curmudgeon.

They were very difficult to deal with.

I know a lot of curmudgeons who aren’t old or grouchy… well, okay they ARE grouchy.

The next door neighbor ask Earl..“How long have you been married Earl?”Earl says..“Thirty-five years..Thrity-five long…..long…..years.”

“Grouchy old curmudgeon” – It really ticks me off when people are repetitive, redundant, & repetitious!

If you’ve earned the right to be curmudgeonly. go for it. Not speaking from experience, but I would imagine it takes a lot to make it to old age. Curmudgeons of the world, unite!
