I have those “photo-grey” lenses in my glasses. They are great when outdoors, but do not turn dark when inside a car. Modern car windows are UV treated, so the rays that darken the lenses do not penetrate. That’s why I have glasses with pre-fitted magnetic clip-ons. I keep the clip-on lenses in the car and when I’m driving in sunlight, I wear them.
To get double dark, the fader lens must be OVER the regular sun glasses. If the other way round, as portrayed in the comic strip, the sun glasses would cancel out the prescription lens.
I’m 73, but was never a sun worshiper, so my wrinkles are not too bad. I wear hats most of the time outdoors. I, too, keep my clip on sunglasses in the car.

Earl looks kind of like Snoopy’s “Joe Cool” alter ego.

So his sunglasses are now behaving like a pair of Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses.

I see people everyday in the Casino with shades on. They can’t even see the games they’re playing.
