If there was one more frame, the recliner would be turned over with Earl still in it.

Carl: “What I thought we were planning so we don’t waste time by both running to save the same thing! Aren’t you supposed to be saving something too?”

By the time you’ve run around locating those items, you’d probably be burnt yourself.

MAYBE the cat. He’s been cuffed a few times, I’ll bet.

He’s right. She asked what he would save, not who he would save.

There was a fire. Six children died. The cook at the diner where I ate was adamant about how I should get my brother out of the trailer we rented in case of fire.

I explained that I had a lot of expensive books and my calculator that I needed to get out first, then him if there was time.

She was horrified and told my brother about my heartless plans. He explained he planned to superglue my door shut and START the fire. (She was not aware we had already discussed our discussion.)

And, yes, what happened to them was horrible but we didn’t focus on that.
