Don’t get me started on people’s weird tastes. I worked as a waitress. One man wanted French dressing on his cottage cheese. I brought it on the side, I couldn’t bear to look at that. Another customer wanted syrup with her omelette. I thought maybe she wanted to dip her toast in it. Nope, she poured it over the omelet.

I used to have an egg added to my milk shakes in restaurants (they frown upon now). If you think that’s weird, think about what a good ice cream is made of. ;-}
My gramma used to make me mayonnaise and sandwich spread sandwiches. My nephew likes ranch style salad dressing on spaghetti. I laughed at him about it until I tried it. It’s GOOD!
Okay, if we’re confessing deep dark secret tastes. . .I like two hot dogs with ketchup and a serving of canned spinach with a dollop of mayonnaise. This has been a favorite ever since I was a teenager. . .no friend or family member will sit at the table with me when I bring this combo out. . .perfect way to get a peaceful meal!
It isn’t the basil that I would be worried about. It’s how may Greeks that might be in there. (Did she use real Greeks?) I know that there isn’t real tuna in the tuna salad that I get from the deli. Who knows anymore?
I like a little barbeque sauce on baked raccoon. And roasted over a fire, rattlesnake meat goes great with any kind of dip. Of course, I once had canned sparrow legs in olive oil. Not too bad, but all eight of them wasn’t very much meat. If you get a chance to try fried crickets or grasshopper/locust – don’t turn it down, it is very much like eating crunchy nuts. There are so many ‘different’ foods depending on where you live that it is great to at least try them when you get a chance. Like eel, guinea pig, pumpkin flowers dipped in flour and deep fried. The only thing I could never get past my lips is lutefisk. Though all my uncles and my dad ate it I could not get past the smell, even when I held my nose. The gag reflex on that was just too much. But maybe I will get it down before I die.

Ice cream with black pepper isn’t bad. I don’t recommend it to anyone but tried it as a joke once and was surprised.
